Munoz, Et al. v. County of Los Angeles, et al. (Calif Super Ct. Los Angeles Cty No. BC723658): On August 19, 2019 The City of Los Angeles agreed a $17.5 million settlement with plaintiff Maria Veronica Solis Munoz, who lost her two minor sons after they were struck and killed by a patrol car that ran through an intersection without its siren, driven by deputy Carrie Esmerelda Robles-Placencia. Plaintiff contended that the deputy negligently operated the patrol car by failing to turn on its siren, striking a Honda Accord in the intersection, and then ultimately swerving onto a sidewalk where it struck plaintiff and her sons. Plaintiff was represented by the Law Office of Marc I. Bloomenfeld. Defendant was represented by the Office of The Los Angeles County Counsel.
