A California Court of Appeal Permits Wrongful Death Covid-19 Action To Proceed Against Employer For Death of an Employee’s Spouse

On December 21, 2021, the California Court of Appeal, Second District, Division One, rendered a decision permitting an action to proceed against an employer based on the claim that the employer’s purportedly inadequate covid-19 protocols resulted in the death of its employee’s spouse.

Truckers Call for Boycott of Colorado

Truck drivers across the nation are calling for a boycott on driving loads to and from Colorado. This is in response to the recent 110 year sentence that was handed down to Rogel Aguilera-Mederos, a truck driver involved in a multiple vehicle/fatality accident that occurred on April 25, 2019, in Lakewood, Colorado.

Featured Verdict: 6 Million Dollar Verdict Against Lyft

Daub, et al. v. Lyft, et al. (Sacramento County Super Ct. No. 34-2018-00234895-CU-PO-GDS): On Dec 6, 2021 a jury entered a $6 million verdict against defendant Lyft and in favor of the parents of a Lyft passenger who was killed in an auto accident that occurred on the 99 freeway.
