Mortgage Company Agrees to $3.7 Million Settlement to Resolve Employment Wage and Hour Case

Susana Valdez v. Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation (San Diego Super Court No. 37-2018-00053677-CU-OE-CTL): On September 16, 2022 defendant Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation agreed to the terms of a $3.7 million settlement to resolve a wage and hour case filed by lead plaintiff Susana Valdez. Plaintiffs alleged that during the period between October 23, 2014 and January 14, 2022, the mortgage company violated California Labor Law including a failure to pay overtime wages, provide rest periods, timely pay wages, provide accurate wage statements, maintain payroll records and reimburse employees for qualified expenses. Plaintiffs were represented by the Aegis Law Firm PC.
