Featured Settlement: Williams Sonoma Agrees to Terms of $1.88 Million Settlement to Resolve Wage and Hour Claim

Barbara Farinha, et al. v. Williams-Sonoma Stores Inc., et al. (Placer County Super Ct. No. S-CV-0042819): On January 19, 2021, defendant Williams-Sonoma Stores Inc. agreed to the terms of a $1.88 settlement to resolve a wage and hour class action suit filed by lead plaintiff Barbara Farinha. In the underlying matter, plaintiffs alleged that Williams-Sonoma failed to provide accurate wage statements, failed to pay minimum wages, failed to pay overtime, failed to allow provide rest and meal periods, failed to reimburse employees for business expenses and failed to maintain payroll records. Defendant denied all allegations and claimed that they followed all the applicable law in California. Defendant did not agree to fault or wrongdoing leading up to the settlement. Plaintiffs were represented by Hyun Legal APC and Polaris Law Group LLP.
