Featured Settlement : Auto Accident

Connor Cassidy v. City of Redondo Beach, et al. (Los Angeles Super Ct. No. BC717365): On December 8, 2020, defendant City of Redondo Beach agreed to the terms of a $4.6 million settlement associated with an accident involving a motorcycle and automobile on Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach. Plaintiff Connor Cassidy was riding a motorcycle on the northbound side of PCH when he struck a vehicle driven by defendant Kenneth Myers resulting in catastrophic injuries to plaintiff including traumatic brain injury, multiple broken bones, and memory loss. Plaintiff claims that the accident was a result of his obscured vision due to a City of Redondo Beach sewer truck on the side of the road. Defendant contended that plaintiff was operating his motorcycle at a high rate of speed and had to swerve around cones that were placed in the road. The parties agreed to a settlement mediated by Janet Ruben Fields of Judicate West. Plaintiff was represented by Agnew Brusavich.
