Carla Gagne
Bio
Carla Gagné is a Partner in the litigation department of Poole Shaffery. She has more than 10 years of experience representing insurers, businesses, and individuals in all aspects of civil litigation in California state courts. Her practice focuses on insurance defense, including the defense of general liability, product liability, premises liability, personal injury, transportation matters, and other complex civil litigation matters. Ms. Gagné is experienced in all phases of litigation, from initial case evaluation and discovery through mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial.
In 2007, Ms. Gagné received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Ms. Gagné received her Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School in 2012. While attending law school, she distinguished herself academically, graduating in the top 20% of her class. She was a two-time recipient of the CALI Award, recognizing the highest-scoring student in a law school course, and was awarded both the John J. Schumacher Scholarship and the Dean's Merit Scholarship in recognition of her academic excellence.
Prior to joining Poole Shaffery, Ms. Gagné practiced at respected law firms representing both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation. Early in her career, she handled personal injury and labor and employment matters on behalf of plaintiffs before transitioning her practice to insurance defense. Her experience representing clients from both perspectives provides her with a comprehensive understanding of litigation strategy and allows her to anticipate opposing arguments while developing effective solutions for her clients.
Ms. Gagné was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2012 and is admitted to practice before all California state courts. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.
