In re: Durable Power of Attorney of Dock Dean (Los Angeles Super Ct. No. 23STPB13044): On Dec 1, 2025, at the conclusion of a bench trial, a verdict of $47 million was issued against three individuals who exploited an elderly victim with dementia. The defendants in this matter deeded over of the victim’s properties to themselves, and gained access to his life savings, resulting in the victim being homeless. The victim, his son and granddaughter initiated a financial elder abuse case against the three defendants to recover his property. The resulting verdict of $47 million included damages for pain and suffering, emotional distress and punitive damages. Defendants were in pro per.
