American Airlines Settles Putative Wage and Hour Case for $24 Million

Aldibert Esteban, et al. v. American Airlines Inc., et al. (Los Angeles Super Ct. No. 20STCV47361): On December 27. 2023 defendant American Airlines agreed to the terms of a $24 million settlement to resolve the claims brought forth by lead plaintiff Aldibert Esteban in a putative wage and hour class action matter against the airline. Plaintiffs alleged that defendant failed to pay overtime wages, minimum wages; provide meal and rest periods, pay wages upon termination and provide itemized wage statements. Defendant denied all contentions before agreeing to the terms of the settlement after a full day of mediation. Plaintiffs were represented by the Markham Law firm. Defendant was represented by O’Melveny & Meyers LLP.
