Juanita Cerrato v. Yong’s Logistics, Inc, et al. (Alameda Superior Court No. HG20056366): Plaintiff Juanita Cerrato was awarded $18,574,222 after a jury found Yong’s Logistics liable for a serious truck‑versus‑automobile crash in Fresno, in which Cerrato suffered traumatic brain injury and other significant injuries when she swerved at night into a shoulder to avoid a tractor‑trailer improperly parked across her lane. Defendant Yong’s Logistics argued that plaintiff negligently operated her vehicle by driving into the shoulder and challenged the future extent of medical care.
