Salvador Rodriguez Ordaz, et al. v. Mary Noel Kruppe (Los Angeles Super Ct. No. 20SVCV00162): On September 21, 2023 plaintiffs Salvador and Braylia Ordaz were awarded a $20 Million verdict against defendant Mary Noel Kruppe in a case where plaintiffs’ daughter was killed in an auto accident. Plaintiffs alleged that defendant was intoxicated at the time of the crash and was driving on a dimly lit dirt road when she crashed head-on into their car, killing their daughter at the time of impact. Defendant asserted an affirmative defense that they settled the matter in pre-litigation for $15,000, and that plaintiffs violated the settlement agreement by filing the lawsuit. Plaintiffs were represented by the Parris Law Firm. Defendant was represented by Macdonald & Cody LLP.
