Bio

Justin R. Wilmers is an associate with Poole Shaffery, where he focuses on civil litigation, defending clients in transportation, premises liability and general liability matters. In addition, Mr. Wilmers has experience in prosecuting and defending claims in real estate litigation. Mr. Wilmers represents clients throughout the State of California, having extensive experience in litigating cases at every stage of the litigation process.

Mr. Wilmers obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles, where as a California Regents Scholar, he graduated cum laude with college honors. Mr. Wilmers then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from UCLA School of Law where he participated in mock trial and was a member of both the Law and Entrepreneurship Society and the Tax and Estate Planning Association.

While attending UCLA School of Law, Mr. Wilmers interned at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office in the Major Crimes Division as well as the Preliminary Hearing Unit. There he gained experience in litigating high-profile, complex cases while also learning to efficiently manage a high-volume caseload daily.

Prior to joining Poole Shaffery, Mr. Wilmers represented real estate investors and developers in various business disputes including breach of contract, wrongful foreclosure, landlord-tenant disputes, non-disclosure, breach of fiduciary duty and fraud cases. Mr. Wilmers prides himself on his creative problem-solving skills and out of the box thinking. With a fundamental understanding of business, Mr. Wilmers has a track record of successfully facilitating pragmatic and cost-effective resolutions. Nevertheless, his experience in court allows him to effectively take cases to trial when necessary.
