Silviana Dana Dumitrescu is an associate in the litigation department of Poole & Shaffery, LLP. Her practice comprises of defending entities and persons against general liability and product liability lawsuits.
Ms. Dumitrescu is a first generation immigrant whose family was granted political asylum from her native country of Romania. Having moved to Los Angels at a very young age, she is a native Los Angelino and attended the Fine Arts program at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.
In 2002, Ms. Dumitrescu received her bachelor's degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Law from California State University, Long Beach. During her undergraduate study, Ms. Dumitrescu was a legislative intern in the Capitol Office of then California State Senator, Betty Karnette of Long Beach, CA.
Ms. Dumitrescu continued her education at Southwestern Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 2012. She won First Place Writer in the Southwestern Intramural Moot Court competition in her first year of law school and was a member of the Southwestern Law School Law Review and Moot Court Honors Programs. She also received honors for Public Service and for earning a position on the Dean's List Honor List for each year of law school.
As a law student, Ms. Dumitrescu externed for the Honorable Ronald S.W. Lew, Senior Federal District Court Judge for the Central District of California, Ninth Circuit, and for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office as a Certified Law Clerk.
Prior to joining Poole & Shaffery, LLP, Ms. Dumitrescu practiced in the area Personal Injury, handling high-profile cases involving Wrongful Death, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Medical Malpractice.
In 2012, Ms. Dumitrescu was admitted to the California State Bar and to the Bar of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
