Brian R. TinkhamBrian R. Tinkham is an associate at the law firm of Poole & Shaffery, LLP. His practice areas include labor and employment law, business litigation, products liability, and general liability.  He graduated with honors from Hastings College in 1997 with a B.A. in Secondary Education (English and Spanish), and he is a 2004 graduate of Southwestern University School of Law. He is fluent in Spanish.

Mr. Tinkham has authored a variety of dispositive motions and briefs, including motions for summary judgment, motions to dismiss, and demurrers.  He has overseen and prepared multiple cases for trial, including taking and defending depositions.  Mr. Tinkham has defended employers against wrongful termination/defamation claims and claims arising out of the Americans with Disabilities Act. He is actively involved in multiple Homeowner Association (HOA) issues arising out of the Davis-Sterling Act; HOA Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions (CC&R) and HOA architectural guidelines. He has also successfully defended several large corporations in multiple product liability and premises liability matters.

Mr. Tinkham is a member of the American Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. A proponent of community service, he has worked to raise money for Public Counsel, a public interest law firm in Los Angeles that provides free legal and social services to low-income children, families, and senior citizens.

While at Southwestern, Mr. Tinkham served as an Associate Editor on the Southwestern Journal of Trade and Law in the Americas, and was named to Who’s Who of American Law Students. He also received the Blue Book Award for Citations and Editing.
